It Is What It Is....

I am in bed right now listening to the rainstorm! The boys are all down for naps and the house is so quiet and peaceful. Yes, it is 2:13, but I just love a good cozy afternoon nap on a rainy day. I have been working on a rainbow for my classroom to go above my door. I was a little disappointed in it. The thing took HOURS to make. I used tissue paper that I tore and wadded it up and glued it on the poster board. Uh oh....I heard a child. AWWWW MANNNNN! Excuse me one moment, I will be right back. There is a bit of an issue. They have been dealt with. It is what it is...

Now, where was I? Yes, a bit disappointed in my rainbow. It looks off center. Those of you that know me well, know that is going to drive me nuts. I stuck the thing up there with tons of Velcro tape and now it's off center. It is what it is.....

By the way, the boys woke up at 6:03 a.m. What is THAT!?! That is not legal in our home(unless you're Ben, he's up and gone long before us). The rules say you may not get out of bed until 7:00. For the life of me I couldn't get them back to sleep. What is one to do? It is what it is....

I have concluded that ironing is beyond me at this point. Cherokee Laundry irons. So, I took my items that have stacked up for weeks and dropped them at off at the Laundry. It was so freeing. It is what it is.......

So, I am going to sit in my bed in my quiet house and enjoy the rain. After all, life is what it is...

I'm sure your rainbow is wonderful. :) As far as the boys, I SO hope that they instead sleep until at least 7:03!!!! Way too early. I feel for ya!! I am just going to remind myself that in the summer, my hair is what it is. I am going to take you up on your "product" recommendation. !!

Way to go girl....you just keep on sending that Laundry out.

From your description, I think I know the kind of rainbow you made. This is how I remember doing it at a kid...tear random pieces of tissue paper. Stick the eraser end into the piece of tissue paper, then dab it onto the poster board that has glue on it. I believe we only put glue on a portion of the board at a time. The finished product is two-dimensional with the different pieces of tissue paper sticking out and off the board. Is that how you did it?

I'll have to re-read some of your posts as I'm unsure what "product" you recommended that Reba is referencing...I'm guessing a hair product since she just mentioned her hair. My hair and summer humidity don't get along. One time last fall/winter I went to my mom's house for eithe Tgiving or Cmas. Her house is very "tight" and so the humidity during the fall/winter builds up. Literally by the time I left our family dinner my hair was curly on the sides (where it tends to curl). Normally, my hair is stick straight. We laughed how her house was so humid it curled my hair in just a couple hours.
Blessings,
Paula

That is so funny!!! I'm sure the rainbow looks great. And I'm with you...naps on a rainy day are THE BEST (esp. on Sunday afternoon)

I didn't know you were back teaching? Maybe I did and I just forgot! I'm sure the rainbow looks fine.
